Hydrogen wanted to transform its ageing, clunky intranet, replacing an old system which was not widely used throughout the company. bluesource was brought in to help Hydrogen transform its intranet into an essential tool for daily use and encourage collaborative working throughout the business.
Hydrogen Group were also heavily reliant on email to send document attachments, new win stories and company announcements. By ripping and replacing their current infrastructure with Office 365 and building SmartSites on top, Hydrogen Group were able to unlock a whole host of new communication methods, such as Delve, Yammer and OneDrive for document sharing.
In addition to this, Hydrogen Group acquired a new company. The need to fully integrate all the new team members into the Hydrogen way of working was also a driver for change.
By selecting SmartSites Hydrogen was able to tackle all of these challenges, and the solution was deployed in record time – just 7 days.
By building Hydrogen’s new portal on top of Office 365, SmartSites unlocked a new world for Hydrogen. It created a hub of information that made office life much easier for its employees – allowing them to quickly access information about colleagues in satellite offices overseas, internal vacancies, policy documents and client information on any device.
SmartSites provided Hydrogen with the tools to create an extension of the office environment for its employees. From anywhere in the world, staff could securely access their email, documents and collaborate with others using Microsoft Office, Skype for Business, OneDrive and SharePoint. This encouraged a company-wide culture change and a new approach to collaborative online and offline working.
The newly-branded intranet allowed Hydrogen to unite all its employees under one umbrella, providing a unified approach to communication with its staff – including newly acquired team members.
As well as a modern look and feel, Hydrogen were provided with an intranet which boasted an intuitive interface and rich functionality that fully incorporated Microsoft Office 365.
As a result, employees were now able to share and collaborate on documents easily, reducing the need to send them via email attachment. It also provided them with a more reliable solution with regards to version control.
Announcements could now be made by adding a story onto the intranet, reducing the need for ‘whole company’ or ‘all staff’ emails.
SmartSites also allowed line managers and senior members of the team to share company information, announce new wins and help their employees consume news in a better way.
