Specsavers engaged bluesource to build a new social intranet, in place of an old and aging system, which could be used by their office staff and retail operations teams. With branches in the UK, Europe and Australasia it was important for the new intranet not only to connect people across a variety of devices, but also across borders.
Choosing LiveTiles Sharepoint allowed bluesource to shrink what would traditionally be a large-scale information architecture operation down to a scalable project which would consider the individual needs of Specsavers regional teams. Its adaptable design allowed the whole site to be completely custom built – incorporating Office 365 and Yammer for day to day collaboration between departments.
LiveTiles SharePoint provided Specsavers with an easily-adaptable and editable interface. This meant that Specsavers staff themselves were able to edit and update content as required with just a few clicks, drags or touches – freeing up internal Dev teams.
To encourage further collaboration across its stores and offices globally, bluesource also included a tool which enabled Specsavers’ staff to translate information – allowing them to feel confident using the Intranet and communicate effectively in their native languages.
Branded to match Specsavers corporate identity, the Intranet allowed staff to stay up to date with corporate news, track down experts and other people within the business, keep up with product and promotional activities and provided centralised access to key organisation assets.
